The Reading Room

How do children learn to read?

How does Nyack teach children to read?

Are Nyack's methods working?

These were questions that a group of parents have been trying to have answered since last November 1999.  PIE  supports the effort of these parents and believes that their suggestions will improve reading in the district for all children.

We have reprinted the text of a letter delivered by this group to the Board of Education.   The Board   responded very positively to these parents at the June 20, 2000 Board meeting.

Find out what the results of those parents efforts has been and how they feel about it in a new letter delivered to the Board on March 13, 2001 that we've reprinted in our March 2001 Update

In the meantime, find READING HELP with our simple, easy to use Reading Guides
