The Achievement Gap

What IS an Achievement  Gap?

Simply put, it is the gap in performance between different groups within the school. In this case it reflects the difference between black and white children's performance on a variety of assessments.

This gap was first brought to light in the Spring of 1999 when PIE and  the NAACP published a joint report based on the statistics compiled by the Nyack School District.

The discussion continues of course.  Stay current on developments by following  our Calendar, The Trustee Vote and Media Watch pages.
