PIE does more than you might think.  The goal of our programs is to level the playing field and provide support that most families in Nyack and Valley cottage simply take for granted.  Currently we are serving over 60 district children and families with a variety of programs.

Middle School Writing Workshop:  Eight volunteers are working with over 30 children each week to help improve writing skills.  Reading Tutors will be made available as needed.  

Saturday Reading Circle provides direct reading help from 10am to Noon every Saturday for approximately 15 children.  Parents are provided with English instruction while their children take part in hands on activities and then write and read stories.

One-On-One Tutoring is being provided to another 15 children

 PIE's Holiday Party: PIE hosted a Party at the Nyack Center that was attended by over 100 people including children of all ages and their families.

PIE and it's members continue to pursue issues that are important to all children in the District including Special Ed, Reading, Summer School and District Hiring
